USATF MINUTES
9-11-08
The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm
In attendance:
Bob
Fontaine, Joyce Baiardi, Will Graustein, Peter Hawley,
Jim Barber, Alan MacDougall, Ron Daniel, Brian Williams and Marc Davis
Minutes- Motion to accept the minutes was proposed by Alan MacDougall and seconded by Bob Gemske.
REPORTS
President- A proposed 2009 budget
was handed out. It’s to be reviewed and will be voted on at our October annual meeting.
Bob requested a vote to reaffirm our by-laws . It was proposed by Alan MacDougall
and seconded by Peter
Hawley then passed unanimously by the committee present.
Membership- no report
Treasurer- Bob Gemske reported that our savings and checking accounts have $39,218.77.
COMMITTEES
Youth- Bill Mongovan reported by
e-mail that the JO XC meet will be Nov. 16th at White Memorial park in
Litchfield and the regional JO XC will be on Nov. 23rd at Van Cortland
Park in NY.
Officials- no report
LDR-
Will Graustein reported that there is one race left in the Road Race
Grand Prix. It is the Niantic half
marathon. The XC Grand Prix will start in Nov. with 3 races scheduled. Discussion
followed regarding a women only race. No decision was made. Will also spoke of considering
making our Aug. trails race a national championship.
Master’s- Bob Fontaine reported
that Conn College hosted a national weights pentathlon on Aug. 24th There
were 70-80 participants.
Race walking- Ron Daniel reported
that a 10K championship will be held in Clinton on Nov. 2nd. Also a youth
training clinic was held in New Haven in the early summer.
Web Master- Brian Williams, our
new web master, requested any new ideas be sent to him.
Sanctions- Alan MacDougall reported
that we had 61 sanctioned races this year.
