2007
USATF-CT Cross Country Grand Prix
INDIVIDUAL
& TEAM RESULTS
Which club has the best team in
Connecticut?
There
is team prize money for Men’s and Women’s Teams in the Open (1st,
2nd), and 40+ (1st) divisions. Open men score the first 5 with 6 and 7
displacing, all others score the first 3 with 4 and 5 displacing. Single
teams in an event earn 1.5 points toward the year-end Championship Title.
Multiple teams in an event earn a minimum of 1 point. The HTC 8K
determines all ties. Men must be 16 or older on the day of
competition and women must be 14 or older.
This
has been a fairly competitive series with the Mohegan Striders claiming
the 2006 title as Connecticut's Cross-Country Champions. The series is short, inexpensive, and a great
way to have fun. It's open to everyone, but you must be a current USATF-CT
Member and a declared member for a scoring team in order to win money.
While
the best way to become a USATF member or renew your membership is to go to
www.usatf-ct.org,
you can also join at any of the three races. Almost all memberships
expire December 31. For anyone joining or renewing after November 1,
2007, a one year membership will be good through December 31, 2008.
The fee is $29.95 for adults and for youth (18 and under) it is $19.95.
On line you may pay by VISA or electronic funds transfer from a bank
account (you will need a bank routing number and an account number, found
on the bottom of checks for that account). Clubs may also join or
renew at any of these races.
