Five Teams Win in Busy Grand Prix Weekend
Five teams came away with victories over the weekend as two USATF-CT Grand Prix Races were contested. The Spring Street Mile took place Saturday (June 11) in Manchester while the Litchfield Hills Road Race (June 12) took place on Sunday in Litchfield.
The SoundRunner women took first at both races in the open division while Manchester Running Company won the women’s masters on both days. The Milford Road Runners were victorious in the grand masters women’s division in both events as well.
On the men’s side, the Mohegan Striders ended the eight race Grand Prix winning streak of SoundRunner Racing in winning the mile by a scant eight seconds. Mohegan also won the master and seniors divisions while Manchester took the grand masters tilt. Mohegan also won the masters and seniors races on Sunday in Litchfield while SoundRunner took the open victory and Hartford Track Club was the grandmasters victors.
