Racewalking Opportunities This Spring

USATF-CT is pleased to offer several race-walking competitions and clinics this spring!

On Sunday, May 21st at 4:00 p.m. a one-hour Racewalk Clinic will be offered at the Peters Recreation Complex Track in Clinton. The cost is $15 and those 19 years old and under, along with their coaches are encouraged to join at no cost. The clinic is offered by Maryanne Daniel and Ron Daniel, National Champions, International competitors and coaches of the CT Racewalkers Club. On Saturday, June 10th, the Spring Street Mile in Manchester will offer a racewalk division as part of it’s festivities. The judging is an honor system for this event, no certified racewalking judges will be on the course. The course is certified but is slightly downhill and thus not records eligible. On June 17th the 1500 m racewalk for ages 9-12, and the 3000 m racewalk for ages 13-18 will be contested as part of the USATF-CT Junior Olympics in Litchfield. For more information please click here.

Lastly, on Thursday July 6th, 13th, 20th and 27th, the MRC Track & Field Series will host a one-mile racewalk each week at 5:40 p.m. These races will be contested on the track and no certified racewalking officials are scheduled to be present, but if that changes updates will be made here.
