USATF MINUTES

5-13-09

The meeting was called to order at 7:30pm

In attendance:  Bob Fontaine, Yvonne Grimes, Will Graustein, Jim Barber, Bob Gemske,  Joyce Baiardi, Peter Hawley,  Ron Daniel and Bill Mongovan

Minutes- Motion to accept the minutes  from 4-8-09 was proposed by Bob Gemske and seconded by Peter Hawley.

REPORTS

President- Bob Fontaine reported that the New Haven Age Group team received a developmental grant from national.

Membership- Jim Barber reported that we have 1,140 members. 720 youth

Treasurer- Bob Gemske reported that our savings and checking accounts have $46,508.42.

COMMITTEES

LDR- Will Graustein reported that April 1st was the Greater Hartford ¼ marathon. The Road Race Grand Prix will begin with a 10K state championship at Lake Compounce. He spoke of adding more races. The Cross Country Grand Prix is also looking to add a 4^th race to their season.

Youth- no report

Officials- Yvonne Grimes stated that we have recertified 82 officials. 20 new officials have signed up to be mentored at our outdoor meet. 20 experienced  officials have also volunteered. 

Master’s- no report

Race walking- Ron Daniel reported that there  will be a clinic in New Haven for the New Haven Age Group team 5-14-09. He and Maryann would like to do one before our outdoor meet  as well.

July 25-26 is the New England Masters Championships. Officials are needed.

Sanctions-Bob Fontaine reported for Alan McDougal that there have been 50 sanctions to date in CT.

Web Master- no report

NEW BUSINESS

OLD BUSINESS

Bob Fontaine reported that our outdoor meet is 6-20. We will be merging the JO and open meets. Jumps, track and pole vault will be contested together starting a t 10am. Open throws will start at 12n. There will be a $15 penalty to register the day of.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:30 pm

The next meeting will be Sept. 9, 2009.
