USATF MINUTES

3-3-10

The meeting was called to order at 7:15pm

In attendance:  Bob Fontaine, Bob Gemske,  Joyce Baiardi, Peter Hawley, Marc Davis, Maryann Daniel, Ron Daniel,  Alan McDougal, Brent Stratton, Brian Williams and Bill Mongovan

Minutes- Motion to accept the minutes was proposed by Alan McDougal and seconded by Ron Daniel.

REPORTS

President- Bob Fontaine spoke of association criteria he learned of at the convention. He presented insurance that is provided to us by the national office. Some discussion followed regarding coaching education that is required for compliance.

Membership- no report.

Treasurer- Bob Gemske reported that we presently have $68,001in our two accounts with some outstanding payments yet to be made.

COMMITTEES

LDR- Peter Hawley for Will Graustein reported that the Road Race Grand Prix starts 3/7 with the 5K in New Haven. The 2010 schedule is now available.

Youth- Bill Mongavan reported that we have added a sub-bantum class for 8 year olds or less for our indoor meet. The contract for the facility has been obtained from Yale. Police need to be on site for the meet.  

Officials- no report

Master’s- no report

Race walking- Maryann Daniel reported that the 19^th annual 5K mall championship was on 2/14. Results were posted on the web site. There will be a clinic for anyone interested before our indoor meet.

Sanctions- Alan McDougal reported that we have 20 races sanctioned so far this year. There will probably be the same number sanctioned as last year.

Web Master- Brian Williams reported that all results available have been posted on our site.

OLD BUSINESS

Convention- Bob Fontaine stated there were less numbers at this year’s convention. Advertising and legal budgets were increased over the 2009 figures.

NEW BUSINESS

Indoor Championship- Our indoor meet is 3/14. Pre-registrations have already started coming in. Our outdoor meet will be June 19^th.

The meeting was adjourned at 8:45 pm

The next meeting will be Apr. 14^th, 2010
