USATF/CT MINUTES FROM 11-10-04 Return to USATF-CT Minutes/Bylaws Page Attendance-
Fontaine, Young, Baiardi, Gemske, Graustein, Hawley, Barber, Daniel, Wright,
Lapinski and Grimes. The meeting was called to order at 7:25 P.M. Motion
to accept minutes from previous meeting was proposed by Mark Young and seconded
by Maryanne Daniel. AGENDA President-

Mark Young reported that our NOW account has $7,701.39 and our IMA account has
$4848.76 Membership-
Jim Barber reported that our final membership number for 2004 is 1276.
AREA
CHAIRPERSONS LDR-
Will Graustein reported that LDR finished their Grand Prix season with the
Mystic Marathon Relay. There was discussion at the previous LDR meeting to
change this race to a straight 10 mi. race. There was no decision at this time.
He also reported that the first 2 of 4 races of the Cross Country Grand Prix are
done. The 3rd race of the series is 11/20 and the last on 11/27.
RACEWALKING-
Maryanne Daniel reported that racewalking had 2 championship races this year.
Results will be sent to Bob Fontaine. The customary 10K fall competition was not
offered but will return next year. MASTERS-
No report OFFICIALS-
Yvonne Grimes reported that there will be a field workshop offered at the Coast
Guard Academy in the spring followed by an event that anyone can volunteer at. WEBSITE-

BUSINESS BUDGET-
Bob Fontaine presented a 2004-2005 proposed budget. After some discussion Will
Graustein moved to accept the budget as amended and the membership of this
committee unanimously agreed. The final budget will be distributed at the next
meeting. Marketing-
Bob Fontaine reported that the idea to send an e-mail blast to the Ct.
membership will be done by Andy Martin
at the national office. A membership application will open first with links
being highlighted in yellow. Ray Lapinski suggested that the e-mail subject lead
off with something about Ct. track
and field so it won’t just get deleted by some. Flyer-
Bob Fontaine said he is working on this. It can be distributed at various track
meets. T-shirts-
Patty Miller is working on a design. It was suggested to contact national
because they may be able to get us a better price on the basic shirt. Calendar- Will Graustein looked into the printing of 1500 11x17in. 2005 calendars with black and white pictures. The cost would be $2000 plus $1500 for mailing. Graustein and Gemske offered to look into getting sponsor ads and informing clubs and other race organizers that their sanctioned races can be listed for a small fee. After much discussion it was decided to send out a membership renewal notice in Dec. or Jan., include our indoor meet application and try to have the calendar ready for distribution by early Mar. NEW
BUSINESS Convention
delegates- Bob Fontaine stated that he himself, Yvonne Grimes, Maryanne
Daniel, Bill Mongovan, Ray Lapinski and Kate Paddon will be going to Portland in
Dec. Indoor
championships- Bill Mongovan reported that our indoor meet on Mar. 20th
will be timed by Ken Platt. The master’s featured events are to be decided.
The Junior XC championship is this Sun. 11/14 @ 10:30. He also reported that
Danbury High School is interested in hosting the CT J.O. championship. He will
pursue this with the athletic director.
