Attendance: Mongovan, Barber, Fontaine, Grimes, Hawley, Graustein, Young, Baiardi

Meeting called to order at 9:10 P.M.

 

AGENDA President- Mongovan reported bylaws are in good shape. We need to work on voting deadline procedure for members. They will then be amended and resubmitted. Mongovan also reported that the eastern zone meet went well. $2750 was taken in. New England did not pay. There were 200 participants, 20 from Canada. Registration the day of continues to be a problem. Grimes proposed cutting off registration 1 hour before start of the meet start. The Junior Olympics went well also despite rain and wind. There was some discussion about moving the location.

 

Vice-President- no report

Treasurer- Young reported that the IMA account has $1186.79 and the NOW account $9,075.65. There are some outstanding bills and income.

Memberships- Barber reported that there are now 1203 current members.

Web site items- no report.

Nominations and Elections- Mongavan stated that this would be discussed at our Oct. meeting and voted on in November. Delegates will be selected at that time for the annual national meeting in North Carolina.

Budget items- Mongavan stated that we would have a budget workshop at our Oct. meeting. Voting will be in Nov.

Incorporation- Fontaine reported that all the documents are done. We will need one more fiscal cycle before we can apply for non-profit status.

Constitution update- No report

AREA CHAIRPERSONS LDR- Graustein reported that 8 of 11 Grand Prix road race events are done. The next LDR meeting will be October 8th. He reported that they plan to decrease the number of races to 7 and spread the races out more throughout the year. The first cross country Grand Prix race will be Oct. 5th. The youth cross country meet will be Nov. 16th. MASTER'S- No report ATHLETICS- Mongovan stated the USATF indoor meet will be at Yale on Mar. 21st 2004. The USATF outdoor meet will possibly be July 18th 2004. YOUTH-Grimes reported that the 4 Bethel youth series on wednesday nights was well attended. RACEWALK- No report DEVELOPMENT- Mongovan reported that the Javelin clinic took place in July. DISABLED- Grimes reported that the Cerebral Palsy World games will be in New London in 2005. More info after the convention. Also the Special Olympic World games in Ireland went well in June. OFFICIALS- Grimes reported that the Nutmeg Games at Conn. College in July were well organized. Also the State Games of America at Willowbrook Park in Aug. had good coverage of officials. There has been no payment as yet. OLD BUSINESS- none
