Nunn named USATF Athlete of the Week
INDIANAPOLIS - John Nunn has been named USA Track & Field’s Athlete of the week after winning the U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Men’s 50 km Race Walk Sunday in Santee, Calif.

USATF Board welcomes three new members
INDIANAPOLIS – USA Track & Field’s Board of Directors has welcomed athlete and activist Jackie Joyner-Kersee, sports attorney Eve Wright and network television executive Mickey Carter to its ranks. Wright and Carter assume independent seats, while Joyner-Kersee takes the board’s High Performance seat. Board member Steve Miller has been elected to the position of board vice chair.

Flanagan named USATF Athlete of the Week
INDIANAPOLIS - Shalane Flanagan has been named USA Track & Field’s Athlete of the Week after winning the women’s U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Marathon Saturday in a new Olympic Trials record time in Houston.

Powerhouse, full fields announced for U.S. Open
NEW YORK – Madison Square Garden will host perhaps the best and deepest fields it has seen in several years as the 2012 Olympic track & field season kicks off in earnest with the U.S. Open Track & Field event on Saturday, January 28.

Keflezighi; Flanagan win U.S. Olympic Team Trials Marathon
HOUSTON - Two of the fastest races in Olympic Marathon Trials history took place on the same day Saturday in Houston as the six men and women who will represent Team USA in London earned their way on the squad. Shalane Flanagan set an Olympic Trials record of 2:25:38 in only her second marathon, while Meb Keflezighi earned his third Olympic berth by winning the Trials in a personal best time of 2:09:08. Flanagan led a Trials record five women under 2:30 while Meb led four men under 2:10 for the first time in Trials history.

Carter added to U.S. Open 50m field
NEW YORK – 2008 Olympic 4x100-meter gold medalist Nesta Carter has joined a loaded men’s 50m field at the U.S. Open Track & Field January 28 at Madison Square Garden. The Jamaican replaces Trinidad’s Richard Thompson, who has withdrawn from the race, and gives the field two of the four fastest 100-meter sprinters in history.
